In establishing this scholarship, Matthew and Elizabeth Abrams wish to address the acute need for qualified mental health practitioners in the region. This endowment will also honor the legacy of Elizabeth’s grandfather Charles L. Calhoun who was a beloved family man, a pillar in his community, and a respected leader in the cotton industry, all while valiantly battling mental health issues.
