Good News from the Dean’s Office

I wanted to share some of the good news items for our College of Education:

The College of Education at New Mexico State University has recently been recognized for high quality online programs. The graduate programs in Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership & Administration, and Curriculum & Instruction are being nationally reviewed and considered in the top programs in the country. Each of these three programs is designed to engage graduate students in developing skills to enact change in educational settings. The programs were reviewed and considered highly because of what the professors and students present as the most important components.

 The Early Childhood Master’s program was reviewed by onlinemasters.com and was 19th out of the 50 programs reviewed. Moreover, the Early Childhood Education program was considered “Most Advanced Studies” by the review team.

The doctoral students in the Curriculum & Instruction program not only take courses online they become part of the NMSU community by attending courses on campus for two weeks each summer.

 The Doctoral program in Educational Leadership & Administration was ranked 7th for their online doctoral program. The reviewers noted that the program includes in-depth coursework in educational law and policy. Additionally, the opportunity for students to select a Doctor of Education or Doctor of Philosophy (with additional coursework) was considered a benefit of the program.
