The Educational Leadership doctoral program in the Department of Educational Leadership and Administration at New Mexico State University’s College of Education has been ranked as one of the top in the country by Educational Leadership Degree Programs, a national rankings website.
“We are honored to receive this distinction. The Department of Educational Leadership and Administration has an exceptionally dedicated, student-centered faculty and bright, rising leaders for students,” said Azadeh Osanloo, interim academic department head of Educational Leadership and Administration. “This recognition is a testament to the hard work of the staff and faculty of the department and our students, who are willing to be transformed into social justice scholars and practitioners.”
Laura Kilmartin, the online relations specialist for Educational Leadership Degree Programs, said editors noted the Educational Leadership and Administration program at NMSU is “highly interdisciplinary.”
“We examined selective schools from the National Center for Educational Statistics College Navigator database and considered the size of the program, Educational Leadership Constituent Council National Recognition and tuition,” Kilmartin said. “We awarded points to each school based on their performances in each category and then summed these to produce a final tally, which we scaled according to a 100-point maximum score.”
NMSU ranked seventh among the 10 universities on the list. According to the list, NMSU “offers not only one of the cheapest online Ed.D. degrees in the country, but also one of the best values for a hybridized in-person/distance learning format.”
