Developmental Appropriate Stages and Activities

Introduction

Congratulations on your new baby!  Your new pleasure also brings on new responsibilities.  These responsibilities include making sure your child is safe, fed, well cared for and teaching your child.  This web quest will aid you in enhancing your child's development.  You will be assigned age appropriate activities to help you teach your child age appropriate skills.
 
The Task

  1. Write a short paragraph on what your child can do/can not do based on your child's developmental appropriate stages.
  2. Get with your assigned groups to discuss and evaluate your observations and findings.
  3. Get together with assigned groups and discuss based on assigned activities.

  4.             What happened?
                What was successful?
                What difficulties did you have?
                What did your child learn?
  5. Rate this game and write a group report on each game by answering the above questions.

  6.             3 - excellent
                2 - fair
                1 - poor
The Process

# 1.  Click on your child's age and read the information on development for that age level.
# 2.  (Birth to one), (One to Two), (Two to Three), (Three to Four)
# 3.  Go to Resources and check out web sites in your child's age level.
# 4.  Play assigned games with your child.  (Birth to one), (One to Two), (Two to Three), (Three to Four).

Evaluation

There will be a total of three grades.  One for individual work (25% of grade), one for group work (25% of grade), and one for final three reports (50% of grade).

The information gained in this webquest will enable you to be aware of your child's developmental stages and give you activities to enhance your child's learning and develop a better parent/child relationship.
