Letter from the Dean's Office
Dear Faculty Member: The NMSU College of Education is pleased to announce that, starting in Fall 2008, we will implement Tk20, a web-based reporting and assessment system that will assist us in meeting state and national accreditation standards and in better serving our students. You are receiving this letter because one (or more) of the courses you will teach in Fall 2008 is part of the initial Tk20 implementation. Tk20 will be implemented in all sections (i.e., on campus, online, and distance) of EDLT 368, EDUC 518, EDUC 519, SPED 350, SPED 500, SPED 506, and SPED 509. All of the students enrolled in the identified courses must purchase a Tk20 account. Tk20 purchase will enable your students to complete several required assignments for your course(s). All College of Education students have been informed of Tk20 through weekly e-mail correspondences. In addition, students in identified courses have received a letter (attached) to explain Tk20 and how to purchase a subscription. Please also note that your course syllabus must include a statement about Tk20 and instructions on how to purchase a subscription. In his memo on course syllabi, Dr. Morehead provided content for the Tk20 syllabus statement (attached). We are in the process of activating faculty and advisor accounts and will notify you as soon as this has been done. We look forward to implementing Tk20 and are confident that you will share our enthusiasm about the many ways that this system will benefit our students, faculty, and the college. Thank you, Office of the Dean College of Education
