Third Annual Educators Rising State Conference

Alliance for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning
The Alliance for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning hosted the third annual Educators Rising State Conference in Albuquerque at the CNM Workforce Training Center in Albuquerque. Over 275 people attended the conference, including 185 high school students from 20 different New Mexico high schools who have expressed an interest in becoming teachers. The students competed in 12 different competitions and attended 15 breakout sessions over three days.

Senator Dr. Howie Morales and David Morales, the 2016 New Mexico Teacher of the Year, both New Mexico State University Alumni were the keynote speakers and they inspired the students to become PHD’s, Persistent, Humble and Determined leaders. Dr. Cecilia Hernandez and nine students from the NMSU Educators Rising Chapter volunteered with the conference.
