The STEM Outreach Center held a professional development training for 270 educators who participate in the 21st CCLC Out of School time programs. These educators received hands on training for the STEM Outreach Centers following curriculums; SEMAA, Readers Theater, DiMA, COUNT, Science Brain Battle, and electives. These programs are implemented at 22 local schools and are free for all students. This year alone these programs have served over 3,000 students! These students are given the opportunity to work with fun hands on STEM topics, and they have a safe place to go afterschool. For the Fall 2017 semester these programs have saved an estimated $1,560,000 in child care services for New Mexico families! Now that the Spring semester is starting the STEM Outreach center is excited to continue serving our community and watch these numbers rise!
