C.O. Marricle brought agriculture to his classroom, integrating math and science using innovative methods. His 5th grade students measured the mass of cream then butter to see if the mass changed, then predicted the outcome of combining hot milk and vinegar. A cheese similar to ricotta cheese was created that the students got to taste. In addition, Mr. Marricle arranged for a presentation with a cow so students could see the origins of milk that they used in experiments.
