General Information About the Program

New Mexico State University (NMSU), located in Las Cruces, has the only specialist training program in New Mexico. Training is offered through the department of Counseling and Educational Psychology(CEP) at NMSU. Students who successfully complete the program will receive an Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in school psychology from the CEP Department.

The departments are housed in the College Of Education, which is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). The Ed.S. program is accredited by the National Association for School Psychologists (NASP).
