SEMAA (Science, Engineering, Mathematics, and Aerospace Academy) provides historically underrepresented and underserved youth-young women, Hispanic, and Native American- a better understanding of and a greater appreciation for, science, engineering, math and technology through avenues of academic enrichment, inquiry-based, career awareness, parental partnerships and a progressive transition from elementary through secondary and continuing to post- secondary.

MC² (Mathematically Connected Communities) is a vision for middle school teachers to be thoroughly prepared to teach mathematics in a way that meets national and state standards, and addresses the diverse learning needs of their students enabling the students to achieve high levels in mathematics.

The NMSU LGI is an interdisciplinary initiative designed to improve achievement through educational games and simulations in formal and informal learning. It includes: Design and production of games and simulations in math, science, and literacy; research and evaluation of effectiveness of student learning and achievement; collaborative work with informal educators; pre and in-service teacher instruction and workshops ad the Learning Games Lab.

MathStar cultivates standards-based mathematics reform for the improvement of student learning with focus areas in: math improvement for middle school students; leading in professional development and student learning needs; use of advanced technology for mathematics instruction and teacher professional development and professional workshops and on line classes.

MAISA (Model of American Indian School Administration) is a federal grant to provide a collaborative, comprehensive Master’s degree in Educational Management and Administration leading to licensure for aspiring American Indian administrators serving schools with American Indian populations with a focus on issues of culture, linguistic diversity and leadership and development.
