Debra Knapp will lead this workshop for general education, special education, and physical education teachers (preK-middle school) who want to learn how to include movement in the education of all students. The purpose of this teacher workshop is for teachers to gain knowledge about the kinesthetic learner and to participate in kinesthetic activities that can be used in the classroom.

THE CURRICULUM

hoola hoop dancers

As children, we all learn by doing and the brain develops as the body moves. Yet, in most educational programs, movement is eliminated from the lesson plans of most subjects. The curriculum of this workshop will put movement back into the daily lesson plans.

BENEFITS

The teacher who incorporates these kinesthetic teaching methods will see an improvement in their students in the following ways:

kids
  1. More knowledge of the body
  2. More control and integration of the body and the mind
  3. Increased attention span
  4. Ability to access muscle memory for the acquisition of information
  5. Improved critical and divergent thinking skills
  6. Improved inter- and intrapersonal skills
