Celebrando MARTS

The annual joint conference for NM Science Teachers Association and NM Council of Teachers of Mathematics will be held this year in Taos, NM on October 11-13, 2001. The conference is called Celebrando MARTS (Math, Art, & Science). Johnny Lott, NCTM President-elect,will be coming to the conference to be our keynote speaker. Call for proposal forms are available at the conference address below. Taos has the perfect atmosphere for us to join in celebrating the connections between math, science, and the arts. Come and present your favorite classroom activities that address this theme, or any other theme relevant to science and math education.

On Thursday, October 11, there will be a Chemical Hygiene Training session from 8:30 to 4:30. It is essential for all districts/schools to receive this training and this is a convenient way to get your school qualified. $$$Reward Offered for Early Registration $$$$! The first 50 teachers to register for the scholarship will receive a scholarship in the form of a reimbursement for the registration fee (payable at the conference). You must pay the registration up front and will be notified if you qualify for the early registration scholarship.

PLEASE NOTE: NMCTM Members who joined or renewed their memberships this summer will get an extra year's membership with their registration to the conference! :-)
