COE Student Receives Scholarship

Congratulations to Ernesto Escoto for receiving the Dr. Richard R. DeBlassie Endowed Fellowship for the 2003-2004 academic year. Ernesto, a Counseling and Educational Ph.D. student came to the United States from El Salvador in 1986 and began pursuing an education at Fresno State in Psychology. After receiving his Master's from Fresno State (graduating Suma cum Laude) he conducted a pre-doc internship at University of California-Berkley. Ernesto is only moments away from finishing his doctorate in Counseling Psychology from NMSU. He will defend in October.

Ernesto is currently working for Counseling and Consultation Services at Ohio State University. We're very proud of his accomplishments! The DeBlassie Fellowship is a fund that supports one doctoral student each year in the NMSU Department of Counseling and Educational Psychology.
