NMSU community leaders honored
The YWCA honored the accomplishments of outstanding women and girls in our community Tuesday night.
Pam Celis, who will graduate from NMSU on Saturday, received the award in the College Student category. Tracy Sterling, director of the NSF-ADVANCE PAID Programs and professor in the entomology, plant pathology and weed science department, and Debra Knapp of the NMSU dance department were among the 36 nominees honored at the REACH Awards (REcognized ACHievement).
A total of 36 nominees were named in nine categories: arts, business, volunteer service, education (K through 12), education (post-secondary), government, nonprofit, young women of achievement (high school), young women of achievement (college) and Nuestra Amiga.
