Patsy Duran
After more than 24 years in philanthropy, Patsy Duran retired from the Healthcare Foundation and Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico in 2004.
As a strong advocate of education, healthcare and volunteerism, Patsy currently serves on the Boards of First Community Bank and the Acute Care Hospital of Southern New Mexico. Previously, Patsy served as President of the Las Cruces Public Schools Board of Education during the construction of Onate High School, Other civic and community organizations include membership in the Mesilla Valley Rotary Club, Chairman of the Board of the Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce and Public Member of the Commission on Higher Education for the North Central Association.
Anthony R. Fairbanks
Dr. Fairbanks serves the Pueblo of Laguna Department of Education, as Superintendent. The Pueblo of Laguna Department of Education's mission is "Helping People Prepare for Life's Journey" by providing educational programs and services for the students and community of Laguna, New Mexico. Dr. Fairbanks, an Ojibwe from the Red Lake and White Earth Indian reservations, Minnesota, has a master's degree in education, and a doctorate in Educational Policy and Administration.
He has been an advocate of education for over 25 years, previously serving as an assistant professor for New Mexico State University, Native American Development Specialist for the University of Wisconsin, elementary school principal, Pre K-12 dean of students, middle and high school football coach, consultant to the Blandin Foundation and executive director of the American Heart Association for the states of Montana and Alaska.
Dr. Fairbanks and his family enjoy cultural, community and outdoor related activities.
