Dance Program to Host Summer Workshop

The Pan American Dance Institute and the New Mexico State University Dance Program will host a summer workshop in August for dancers age 13 and up at intermediate or advanced levels. The workshop is Monday, Aug. 6 through Saturday, Aug. 11, at the James B. Delamater Activity Center. A placement class to determine intermediate and advanced levels will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5. The classes are from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday with a lunch break from 12:15-1:15 p.m. Two master classes will take place from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Saturday. The workshop will feature guest artists Matthew Keefe and Brittany Fridenstine-Keefe and NMSU instructors Debra Knapp and Ann Gavit. Classes will include ballet, jazz, modern and gyrokenesis.

Fees are as follows: $200 all day Monday-Friday; $215 all day Monday-Friday and Saturday; $125 half-day Monday-Friday; $145 half-day Monday-Friday and Saturday; $50 for one week-day of classes; $30 for one half-day of classes; $15 for one Saturday class. Pan American Dance Institute members receive a 10% discount. Dorm-style housing with meals and adult supervision is also available for $200. The deadline to register is July 23.
