Dance Program Performance
NMSU Outdoor Recreation, in collaboration with the NMSU Dance Program and local artists, will present an evening of dance, music and film at 7 p.m. Friday, April 20, at the Rio Grande Theater. This event is part of the Adventure Arts Series and will highlight the environment, nature, culture and our place in it. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $10.
Musicians will include Randy Granger, Justin Brantley, Matt Weber and Leo Borrego. Mei Ling Po McKay will perform her dance, "Follow Your Bliss," which is a slow and meditative Yang Style Taijiquan traditionally done outdoors in nature. The NMSU Contemporary Dancers will perform "Paloma Blanca" and "Desert Ice," both choreographed by Debra Knapp. They will also perform "Flood," choreographed by senior Anne Bishop, and "Aqueous," choreographed by junior Morgan Taylor. NMSU Dancers Unlimited choreographer Lindy Matthews will present her dance "A River Flows in Me."
