Web Services

The Learning Resource Center supports the College of Education in the design and maintenance of their webpages. If you encounter problems with the Education website (http://education.nmsu.edu) or need changes made to department webpages, please email Dr. Jennifer Villa (jvilla@nmsu.edu). If you have extensive changes please come to the LRC for an appointment. Our staff is limited, so priority for web work is as follows:

  1. Departmental academic and administrative pages.
  2. Non-academic college programs
  3. Grant projects.
  4. Faculty personal webpages

Access to webspace

Departments, programs and faculty are welcome to produce and maintain their own personal webpages. All members of the NMSU community have access to webpage space on the university servers. Instructions for creating your own webpage can be found at http://web.nmsu.edu/. If you need space on the College of Edcation webserver (for college projects or classes), check with Dr. Jennifer Villa for webspace and access. As space is limited, users should limit their use of large images and multimedia files.

Design Standards

All official departmental webpages need to use the University templates in the design of their main webpages. Projects and non-academic programs may use different design standards as long as they conform to the NMSU WWW policies.  All our department pages and many of the program and grant projects are now built in the university's content management system, mango. Departments can maintain their own content easily in the mango system. To get training, contact Adam Cavotta (cavotta@nmsu.edu) or Jennifer Villa (jvilla@nmsu.edu).

Use of Images

We have had a few requests from people who do not want their picture on the web, to have their picture removed. We have removed those images, and now require a signed release form before putting an individual's picture on the web. Please use the College Model Release form.

If you object to a picture of yourself which is currently on the education.nmsu.edu website, please let me know what page it is on (url) and I will remove it. jvilla@nmsu.edu
