Leslie Lopez

Graduation: December 2005

Born and raised in EL Paso, Texas. High School Graduate from Montwood High School, EL Paso Texas. I am also, apart of the NMSU Soroity Chapter Zeta Tau Alpha. Ever since I graduate from NMSU, I have been happily married to my husband, Jorge Lopez Jr. for three years and still going strong. When I graduated from NMSU, I was chosen to be a Dance Director with a Locally owned studio by Nancy Bates in Las Cruces NM, named Gym Magic. I created classes that consisted of Creative Movement, Ballet, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Gymnastics for kids with the age of 18mths to High School Students. Within that time at Gym Magic, I created a Dance Troupe that preformed throughout Las Cruces. At the same time I was also working with Onate High School Silverettes. It was a pleasure working with Gym Magic and Onate High School, but I was pregnant and had my baby and decided to be a stay home mom. Alexzandria Sophia Lopez, was born on March 20, 2007 weighing in at 7.9 lbs and 21 in. She is my life and I am so thankful for her. Ten months after Alexzandria was born, I decided to take a job in EL Paso, TX with a non-profit organization KIDS EXCEL, under the direction of Gemtria St. Clair. This is a program where we worked with different elementary schools preparing them for a grand, end of the year performance. Unfortunately, I was unable to finish off the year, because I was offered a position at Onate High School with the Special Education Department and with the RKR Visual Ensemble (dance and flags). Once I finished the year with Onate High School, I applied for a Dance teacher Position in EL Paso tx, at Socorro High School. They greatly accepted me as a candidate for the positon. As of today I am proud to say that I reached my goal to become a Dance Teacher at Socorro High School in EL Paso. I am also a director of The Revolution Ensemble aka: Flags at Socorro High School with the SHS Bulldog Band under the Direction of Albert Licon and Isaac Medina. At the same time, I am attending UTEP to get my Masters in Education. It has been such an experience and pleasure working with talented and creative people. There are three people who I would like to thank, my mom, dad and husband. They have always encouraged me to be the best and have been big supporters. Thank you and I love you very much.
