Professional Development

  • Center for Learning and Professional Development training in administrative systems and processes, employee development, supervisor and leadership development, policies and procedures, and institutional compliance.
  • Teaching Academy provides professional development to NMSU educators in teaching, leadership, and mentoring.
  • Online Course Improvement Program (OCIP) professional development for NMSU faculty focusing on improving the quality of online teaching and learning.
    • Invitation to apply – Las Cruces Campus!
      • One-Year-Plus Fellowship (1Yr+)Applications are now being taken for the One-Year-Plus Fellowship (1Yr +). This is a 16-month fellowship that assists faculty in improving the quality of their online course(s) following Quality Matters best practices and by participating in self-selected professional development. Accepted faculty members are notified in late August and the program starts in early September.
      • New2Online Program (N2O)Applications are also being taken for the New2Online Program.  This is a 10-month program that assists faculty who want to move their current face-to-face course to a blended or online format. The New2Online cohort of participants will learn how to use Canvas as their learning management system, design a blended or online course following Quality Matters best practices, establish content on Canvas, and participate in self-selected professional development. Accepted faculty members are notified in late August and the program starts in early September.For more information and access to the applications for either program, please visit the Online Course Improvement Program (OCIP) website at ocip.nmsu.edu.  The application deadline is August 23, 2016.
