Registration Information

General Information

Each semester New Mexico State University offers courses off-campus for undergraduate and graduate credit. The schedule is coordinated with the Colleges in cooperation with the Office of Distance Education and the Graduate School.

Admission

Admission to New Mexico State University as an undergraduate or graduate student is required. All students pursuing a bachelor's degree must apply for regular Undergraduate Admission. Students applying for admission to Graduate School will be admitted non degree pending formal admission into a graduate program. It is the responsibility of the students to follow-up on the application process, when applying on-line and also to receive instructions for completing the registration process. You may also apply on-line for admission to graduate school.

Registration

Normally, registration is to be completed by mail, telephone or at a scheduled on-site location. Registration for continuing students may also be completed via the Web using your personal identification number (PIN). Students registering on-line must follow through with a telephone call to the Accounts Receivable Office to finalize payment(505 6464911 or 1888PAYNMSU). Registration completed online without payment arrangements will result in cancellation. From the on-line page many different transactions may be completed by pointing your browser and selecting from the menu at: http://www.nmsu.edu/ONLINE/ Registration packets may be obtained by mailing a request to: Office of Distance Education, MSC 3WEC, PO Box 30001, Las Cruces, NM 88003-8001 or calling toll free 1-800-821-1574 or 505/646-1638.

Financial Aid

Books: Required textbooks may be purchased at the location of the course offering or at the NMSU bookstore.

Tuition and Fees(Subject to Change)

Students on Financial Aid or Scholarships must check with their Financial Aid Advisor when registering for courses by distance education. Tuition Assistance Forms and purchase orders also accepted.

  • $185.50 per credit hour for undergraduate instruction.
  • $199.20 per credit hour for graduate instruction.
  • $15 per credit hour additional fee for Distance Education courses.
  • $30 for application fee(graduate admission to NMSU).
  • $20 for non degree application fee.
