What is a Kinesiology Degree?
The Kinesiology Degree is a program of study for students interested in pursuing careers in various fields such as:

- Nursing (Second Degree/Accelerated BSN Option)

Within the Kinesiology Degree Program, the student has the choice of the following four (4) specialized tracks of study. Click on the following links for a description of each degree track and curriculum requirement.

Kinesiology students are afforded the opportunity to sit for various national certifications which can prove exceptionally useful for future career endeavors. One goal of the department is for all students not only to achieve a bachelor’s degree but to also graduate with a nationally recognized certification. This enhances student’s success in whatever field they chose to pursue.
New Mexico State University is recognized by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Program School with an emphasis in Strength and Conditioning. The NMSU Academic Strength and Conditioning Program Director is Dr. Joseph M. Berning.
Student Success
Kinesiology students who take advantage of program offerings and participate in extracurricular activity have successfully been accepted into some of the best schools in the nation. Several students have been accepted to medical school, physical therapy, chiropractic medicine, graduate school and even law school.
