Retired men’s golf coach Herb Wimberly is fulfilling one of his late wife Carleene’s wishes by establishing a scholarship endowment in the College of Education in her memory. The Carleene Wimberly Memorial Endowed Scholarship will be awarded to a master’s level graduate student in the Counseling and Educational Psychology Department. Carleene Wimberly earned two degrees from NMSU in the 1970s. Herb Wimberly coached at NMSU for 31 years and was also influential in establishing the PGA Golf Management program at NMSU.
