Getting Online
Our web-based distance education classes are taught using
WebCT. If you are
registering for a web-based class, be sure to get a
pin number and account name (also referred to as Global ID) as soon as you are
registered for your classes. You will need the Global ID to
log on to
WebCT (your password for WebCT is your Social Security Number).
Once you have your Global ID, use your web browser to connect to
WebCT at http://salsa.nmsu.edu/,
click on My WebCT and a link to your course should appear. If you do
not have a Global ID, your instructor will not be able to add you to
the course class list. Faculty generally update their class lists
(sychronize their class list with the list of registered students)
several times during the first weeks of class to add new students
and remove those who have dropped. If you are registered and have
an Global ID you will be added when the instructor runs the
synchonize function in WebCT and you will be able to access the
online class. If you have difficulty in accessing your class, please
contact the instructor (usually listed on the course list) or the
department.
