The Psychology of Race/Ethnicity, Gender, Sexual Orientation, and Disability:

Celebrating Our Children, Families, and Seniors.

You are invited to attend the 2-day National Multicultural Conference and Summit 2003 - the Psychology of Race/Ethnicity, Gender, Sexual Orientation, and Disability: Celebrating Our Children, Families, and Seniors. The conference/summit has been designed to address issues related to research, education and training, practice, and public interest issues. The conference brings together many outstanding psychologists who have worked in the areas of race relations and ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and disability.

The goals for this important event are to:

  • focus on theory, research and practice issues of race, gender, sexual orientation, and disability
  • explore how these sociodemographic variables intersect, converge, and diverge
  • raise awareness of difficult dialogues between racial/ethnic minorities, gay men/lesbian women, the disabled, and men and women, as well as within these groups
  • study the affect of language (verbal, sign, etc.) on all groups
  • concentrate on methods and strategies that must be implemented to reduce bias, prejudice, and discrimination related to these groups.
