Lisa Grayshield is a member of the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California. She recently completed her doctorial degree at the University of Nevada Reno in Counseling and Educational and started her faculty assignment at NMSU in Fall, 2006. Dr. Grayshield has conducted research and published on topics in Indian Education and Culture Based Professional Development. She has served on numerous boards and committees and is currently a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), Multicultural Counseling Division, and Counselors for Social Justice. Additionally, she is a member of the National Indian Education Association (NIEA), and a reader for the Journal of American Indian Education (JAIE).
