Curriculum Vitae

Eve Adams is an Associate Professor and Director of Training for the Counseling Psychology Ph.D. Program at New Mexico State University.  She received her doctorate in Counseling Psychology in 1988 from The Ohio State University.  She also served as a psychologist at the University of Akron’s Counseling and Testing Center.  Dr. Adams has served on the editorial boards of the Journal of Counseling Psychology, Training & Education in Professional Psychology, and the Journal of Counseling and Development.  She has received a HRSA training grant to improve doctoral psychology education via interdisciplinary experiences in primary care settings in order to integrate physical and mental health care for medically underserved patients.  Dr. Adams’ research interests are multicultural identity development, gender role beliefs, LGBT psychology, and career self-efficacy.  Her teaching interests are multicultural psychology, supervision, counseling skills, assessment, and career counseling.
